Our Legal Basis for Processing Sensitive Data: We gather this information solely to verify that you are in the appropriate physical and mental health conditions required for the intensity of our retreats. This data is handled with the highest level of confidentiality and is never shared with unauthorized individuals.

Financial Information

Our payment handling reflects our offline, direct-to-teacher operational reality:

  • Online Transactions & Bank Details: Our website does not use automated payment processing systems or active digital checkouts. When you apply for a course via our website form, any advanced digital transactions are handled manually. If you explicitly request to pay online prior to arrival, we share our official bank account information with you via private email. We collect and retain the transaction receipts, bank wire confirmations, or deposit slips you email to us purely to verify your enrollment.

  • In-Person Payments: Payments made at our designated reception desks via credit card or debit card are processed instantly through our local electronic terminals. We do not view, log, or store your raw card numbers or security codes. For cash payments settled on-site in Guatemalan Quetzales (GTQ) or US Dollars (USD), our records are limited to standard, automated transaction entries that appear on our secure bank statements for mandatory local tax compliance.

  • Processing your course registration and assigning your private pyramid cabin at either facility.

  • Mandatory Government Reporting: By law, all hospitality and retreat facilities operating in Guatemala must register foreign guests with the country’s official authorities. We are legally required to share your guest registration details, passport information, and stay dates with the Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo (INGUAT) across all stay durations.

Your digital records are stored in secure cloud systems within Google Workspace and Squarespace, which are protected by strong passwords and limited solely to authorized administrators of Las Pirámides Del Ka. Physical registration forms signed at our designated desks are filed securely under lock and key at our administrative offices.

Data Retention Timelines

We retain your personal records only for as long as necessary to fulfill the original purposes of collection, resolve accounting or tax requirements, and comply with Guatemalan legal frameworks for hospitality and tourism tracking. When your data is no longer required for these legal or operational pillars, it is securely and permanently deleted or shredded.
