FAQ
-
No. We teach from the ground up. Whether you are a long-time practitioner or a complete beginner looking for an authentic spiritual retreat in Guatemala, the curriculum is designed to meet you where you are. All we ask for is an eager heart and a bit of self-discipline.
-
Yes. Every student is provided with their own private pyramid accommodation. We believe that having a personal, quiet space is essential for processing the course's work.
-
Pack comfortable, loose-fitting clothes for daily yoga and meditation.
Importantly, you will need all-white clothes for our two ceremonies - one at the beginning of the silence week and one at the end. You’ll also need a notebook, a flashlight for the paths at night, and some basic supplies like paper and scissors, which can be found easily in town. We provide all bedding and essentials.
-
Our communal kitchen is the heart of the school's social life. You are responsible for your own vegetarian groceries, which you can find in the local markets of San Marcos La Laguna. The kitchen is fully equipped for you to prepare your meals and connect with others.
-
The 4th week is a core part of the Moon Course. We move into silence to integrate the month's study. While we highly encourage this, as it is where the deepest realizations often happen, we respect that everyone’s body is different, and we support you in doing what is good for you. Please note: Depending on the cycle, the silence week may take place at our mountain retreat centre to ensure a deeper quiet.
-
The Moon Course officially begins one day after the Full Moon. Students are expected to arrive and check in on that day. If you wish to arrive in San Marcos La Laguna earlier to explore the town or adjust to the lake's pace, we recommend finding local or village accommodation for those extra days. While it is sometimes possible to settle into your pyramid a day early for an additional fee, this depends entirely on availability and must be arranged with us well in advance.
-
We have Wi-Fi available in specific areas, but we encourage you to use this time to unplug. This is a rare opportunity to listen to your own voice instead of the noise of the world.
-
Presence is key to the integration. To receive your initiation at the end of the month, you are expected to attend every morning metaphysics class. Of course, if an emergency or illness arises, we understand, but the continuous layer of the teachings requires your consistent presence.
-
Your payment covers your accommodation and all scheduled classes. Outside of this, you are responsible for your own groceries, as meals are not provided. For the practical assignments and the week of silence, you will need a few simple, personal items: all-white clothing for our ceremonies, a notebook, and basic paper to construct the geometric tools used during your introspection, and a candle to start and end your silence.
-
The space is intentionally minimalist to keep your mind clear and receptive. Inside your private pyramid, you will find a comfortable bed with clean sheets, a functional desk for writing and integration, and shelving to organize your personal belongings.
-
Yes. While the 28-day cycle is a complete immersion, our classes are open to drop-in visitors. You are welcome to join us for a single day, study with us for a week, or stay for the entire cycle depending on your schedule.
-
No. The Sun Course builds directly upon the foundational alignment and esoteric maps learned during your first month. Completing the Moon Course and receiving your initiation is a strict prerequisite before you can step onto the next stage of the path.
-
Yes, you can pay your balance or your daily drop-in classes in cash directly at our reception desk.
-
You can show up without a prior reservation, but it is a risk. Because we limit the number of students to protect the quiet of the sanctuary, our private pyramids often fill up completely before the cycle begins. Booking ahead simply guarantees your space.
