In 1975 Chaty Secaira had a vision in which she was asked to start doing spiritual work and to teach to others. From 1977 and onward she visited esoteric schools to gain experience in this field. In 1984 she started working with medicinal plants in San Antonio (Guatemala) to help the local population with their health issues. In 1988 she moved to Antigua to start a yoga school and a shop for natural health products, which she moved to Panajachel a year later. On July 11th, 1991 Las Pirámides was started in San Marcos La Laguna, during a total solar eclipse. Deep gratitude goes to the many people that have contributed to the growth of the Centre, including those who helped to build the various structures and those who provided support in other ways. Besides teaching, Chaty enjoys working on various projects for the benefit of San Marcos and it's surrounding villages, including running the radio-station (Radio Cosmos) and leading the non-profit, non-governmental organization Sembrando Esperanza to support the local community. |
