Meditation session at Las Pirámides
Meditation session at
Las Pirámides

Welcome to the Internet-site of Meditation Centre Las Pirámides, at Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. The Centre is based in the lovely town of San Marcos, surrounded by lush vegetation and right on the shore of the lake. The Centre has two Meditation Temples, pyramid-shaped cabins, a library, medicinal herb garden, communal kitchen, sauna, a private dock and a vegetarian restaurant.

Las Pirámides offers a general program of one month, the Moon-course, but it's classes are also open for people not attending the course. The sessions you can participate in from Monday to Saturday are: Hatha-yoga at 7am, classes on various spiritual topics at 10am, and meditation techniques at 5pm. The Centre also offers a three-month Sun-course, which is open to those who have finished the Moon-course. Besides the standard courses Las Pirámides regularly organizes additional courses, such as in Shaluha-ka healing treatments and an introduction to medicinal plants.

The general objective of the Centre is the search and understanding of Who We Are, Where We Come From and Where We Are Going. We are all part of this world, we all live here and because of this we are all responsible for what happens here. This is why we have the duty to help positively wherever we may be, no matter which country, religion, language, race, social condition or work that we have. He who lives in peace, projects this peace to the family, home, community, country and the world in general. All we need is to be Honest, Just and Truthful in order to find the light of understanding in our hearts.

Please note that Las Pirámides is not a religious centre and that people of all religious and non-religious backgrounds are welcome to join.

It may not come to you as a surprise that the hurricanes of October 2005 did a lot of damage in the Lake Atitlan region. Although the damages have been repaired and everything is functioning as normal, the local economy has not fully recovered yet. Even if you are not staying at Las Pirámides, your visit to Lake Atitlan will have a positive effect on the local economy.
