The Moon-Temple
The Moon-Temple

Las Pirámides has Two Meditation Temples in which the classes and meditations take place. The large Sun-temple is used for the Moon-course classes (including yoga), while the smaller Moon-temple is used for the Sun-course classes. Both temples are aligned to the four cardinal points. They are constructed using various woods and inlaid sacred cristals in the foundations in order to enhance a higher spiritual potential. In the interior of both temples there are universal symbols that explain creation, including the four elements which represent the four aspects in man (spiritual, mental, emotional and physical).

Right near the entrance of the Centre is the Vegetarian Restaurant which has a variety of delicious drinks and vegetarian dishes. You can sit inside the restaurant or outside under the trees. The restaurant also offers wholewheat products. Inside the restaurant is the reception, which is open from 8am to 6:30pm. In the reception is a satellite telephone-service. The restaurant also has a small shop where you can buy various local crafts, your daily portion of incense, medicinal herbs and the famous picture-blocks made by Daumno.

Scattered around the Centre are various Pyramid Cabins where you can stay during the courses. All the cabins have firm mattresses (sheets and blankets are included). For prices, click here. Reservations for the Moon-course can only be made for the day after the Full Moon Ceremony but this is subject to availability and you arriving the day of the Full Moon. Cabins cannot be reserved in the middle of the course. The Centre has ample space, and in cases when all the rooms are occupied there is easy nearby accomodation and still possibility to join the classes. Las Pirámides is not a hotel, so the cabins are exclusively reserved for guests attending the classes. Additionally there are hot-water showers and shared bathrooms. As a guest you can also make use of the communal kitchen where you can cook your own (vegetarian) food. Basic kitchen equipment is available.

The Medicinal Garden
The Medicinal Herb Garden
The Sauna (of course also in a pyramid shape) is heated up on Sundays and every day during the retreat. It is a wood-fire Sauna and for that extra cleansing-touch medicinal plants can be used.

On the way to the Sun-temple is the Medicinal Herb Garden where numerous remedies are grown. When dried and processed some of these plants are packaged and sold as herbal-teas around the lake under the Las Pirámides-brand. An example of this is the Mugworth-herb which can be helpful in inducing lucid dreams. The garden is a great place to just hang out, lay down and read a book and plays a central role in the retreat week of the Moon-course.

The Library
The Library

The Library of Las Pirámides is open from 11am to 4pm every day. It has one of the largest collections of esoteric books found in Central America, but also has 'normal' books. The books are mostly in English and Spanish and can be borrowed for free, for non-guests a deposit is required. The library plays a movie regularly, ranging from the latest blockbusters to documentaries related to the courses. The library has an Internet-connection. For all those asking: there is no book-exchange (ever seen a book-exchange in a library??), but you are of course always welcome to donate the books that you don't longer need!
